Learning about offshore sailing

The experience we gained over so many years of sailing benefits to beginners as much as to
confirmed sailors who wish to increase their knowledge, or to people who intend to cast off aboard their own boat.
And our association allows us to put our knowledge of the sea at the disposal of our crew members
as part of the offered cruises as well as on ocean passages.

What you'll be able to discover or improve on board:

- all the usual maneuvers aboard a sailboat
- navigation with current technological means (chartplotters, GPS, etc.)
- old style navigation (dead reckoning, astronomical navigation and so on)
- technical maintenance of a sailboat (mechanics, electricity, hydraulics, etc.).

The boat and her skipper

The boat is a cruiser-racer (ex "Barracuda of Tarrant" which stood out in the RORC races in England) which was completely reconditioned for extreme latitudes in 2012 (insulation, heating, fittings, autonomy, etc.). She has three spacious doubles cabins, two at the back and one at the bow, a large bathroom with WC and shower, a very well appointed kitchen, a large and bright saloon and a very large cockpit. She can very comfortably accommodate up to six people.

Comfortable, fast, strong and safe in all weathers, it will allow you to navigate in symbiosis with the elements at. the force of the wind or with the help of its powerful engine when conditions require it.

The skipper:

Your captain Laurent holds the Captain 500 certificate of the French merchant navy. He could officiate on cargo ships, but chose to devote his professional life to yachting. Sailing since his birth and having specialized since 1986 on all types of sailboats between 30 and 120 ft, he travelled all the oceans of the world, for charter or delivery. He lived for around ten years in the West Indies, then 17 years in the Pacific, mainly in Polynesia.

Since 2012, withdrawn of professional sailing, he devotes himself body and soul to the association "Concept Voile Nature et Aventure Oceanique" to share with you his large experience in Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego and Antarctica.

Your captain performed 25 transoceanic sailing passages as well as a world sailing tour. His experience in managing a crew contributes greatly to the good atmosphere on board and many of his former crewmates are happy to return on board more than once. Likewise, his extensive charter experience means that he knows perfectly the secrets of a successful cruise. Passionate about his profession, he will share his knowledge with you in as varied fields as astronomical navigation and star tracking, scuba or free diving... and of course his knowledge of sailing, his good mood and many more other things...

Spoken languages: French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, all fluently... especially after the evening drink!
